Job Description – Account Executive

Smoak Public Relations, a boutique PR firm, is looking for a highly-motived, self-starter to join our team. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and a friendly personality. They will demonstrate energy, accountability, willingness to learn and professionalism.  This individual will also have the natural ability to cultivate relationships with clients and vendors.

As an account executive you will work alongside experienced PR professionals to develop, manage and execute a variety of client initiatives.  Your role will include:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for client related needs including strategy implementation, weekly meetings, updates, etc.
  • Develop and pitch story ideas to local and regional digital, broadcast and print media outlets
  • Generate media coverage to increase awareness and provide exposure related to clients’ goals and objectives
  • Provide comprehensive media clip reports to clients
  • Demonstrate expertise in writing and editing a variety of communication efforts including press releases, op-eds, social media content, marketing collateral and more
  • Maintain relationships with journalists at local, regional and national media outlets
  • Oversee design and production of all necessary marketing materials and collateral
  • Serve as copywriter for all client related needs
  • Assist with planning strategic social media campaigns and tracking deliverables
  • Develop comprehensive timeline(s) and execute all aspects of corporate event planning and special events


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to write in multiple styles and formats
  • Graphic design experience
  • Photography experience (preferred but not required)
  • Database management
  • Experience managing social media
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated, team player
  • Strong work ethic
  • Demonstrates an outstanding ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and elevated focus on client satisfaction
  • Experience with website management (preferred but not required)
  • 2-3 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English or related field

Job Description – Assistant Digital Media Specialist

Smoak Public Relations, a boutique public relations firm, is seeking an assistant digital and social media specialist. The ideal candidate would be responsible for assisting in the creation of all digital marketing and social media platforms for Smoak PR and its clients.

The candidate has a positive attitude, a friendly personality and is a team player. This person will demonstrate energy, accountability and a willingness to help others. This is a constant fast paced role and the candidate must have the ability to juggle many tasks.

The candidate would fit well in the above-outlined environment and be well-organized, creative, attentive to details and deadlines and able to manage a varied list of tasks efficiently.


  • Assist in the planning, implementation and monitoring digital and social media strategies for Smoak PR and its clients
  • Design, develop and execute organic posts, boosted posts and ads
  • Collect and present analytics regarding social media performance for Smoak PR and its clients
  • Develop graphic design content for marketing collateral including digital and print ads, signage, invitations, social media graphics, etc.
  • Assist with multiple projects and set priorities
  • Monitor digital and social trends constantly to provide added value for Smoak PR and clients alike to enhance and improve online presence
  • Have strong knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Suite
  • Experience managing content scheduling software and e-blast platforms
  • Ability to update websites via WordPress
  • Experience with photography/cinematography and photography editing software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • The initiative to learn new skills
  • Agency experience preferred but not required
  • College degree and two years’ experience creating, executing and managing content on Facebook, Instagram, Linked-In, etc.
