Upstate Medical Practice Donates to Physician’s Family Foundations
Greenville, SC | Nov. 14, 2019 – Carolina Nephrology, a top provider for patient kidney care in the Upstate, recently donated $10,000 to three foundations that hit very close to home for the medical practice. These three organizations, the “I Got Legs” Foundation, Rader Ward Foundation, and CP Now, are all closely related to three of their practicing physicians, making these contributions very special.
The “I Got Legs” Foundation began when its founder was involved in a horrific car accident and since then, has been dedicated to rehabilitating individuals with physical challenges. The founder, Adam Gorlitsky, is nephrologist, Dr. Barry Gorlitsky’s, brother.
The Rader Ward Foundation is closely tied to Dr. William Ward, as he and his wife started the organization following his son Rader’s suicide. Their mission is to provide scholarship support for creative children that would benefit from an alternative educational philosophy.
Lastly, CP Now is an organization that aims to optimize the lifelong health, wellness and inclusion of people with cerebral palsy. Dr. Blake Shusterman’s wife, Michele, started the national nonprofit because their daughter Lily was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and she wants to continue to improve the lives of those affected by cerebral palsy.
During this season of giving, Carolina Nephrology was eager to contribute to causes that are not only revolutionary, but also strongly connected to their organization and its mission. For more information on Carolina Nephrology and their practice, please visit www.carolinanephrology.com.
