Corley Plumbing Air Electric Employee Sets Example

GREENVILLE, SC – May 3rd, 2017 – Laura Hill with Corley Plumbing Air Electric has been with the company for over 15 years and is an active participant in the United Way’s “Hands on Greenville Day”. As the company’s HOG Day Team Leader, Laura encourages her team of coworkers to come together and give back to the community she loves so much. Laura sets an incredible example for others through her volunteer work and her positive attitude at the office. Laura began her career as a Customer Service Representative in March 2000 and moved into finance in 2004.

Corley team members are committed to providing extraordinary service however, Laura has found that they are in the people business as much as the plumbing, air and electric business. Laura details her passion for her job, volunteering and Greenville below.

What do you admire about the Corley company culture?
The culture here is amazing! It really starts from the top with Chris Corley. He is a good man, who cares about his employees and their families. He believes in doing the right thing no matter what. He teaches us to do and think the same way. We have a culture of creating “wow” moments. Originally, the thought behind this was to wow our customers in any way possible, from sending flowers, to helping carry groceries, to putting together a rocking chair. It has morphed into creating wow moments for employees too, like encouraging emails from coworkers to receiving a special treat on your birthday. I also admire how much Corley gives back to our community by being part of the Be a Book Bunny program, the HOG Day program, the Child Abuse Prevention Walk and so much more. Everyone at Corley belongs to the Greenville Community and we need to do our part to give back.

Tell me a little bit about why you love working at Corley?
I love working for Corley because of the values that they believe in and teach – like honesty, integrity, dedication and compassion. All Corley employees are hired based on our Core Values and I think that makes our environment different from other companies.

What is your involvement with HOG Day specifically?
Corley has been a HOG Day sponsor since 2009. I have been the team leader since then. Last year, I was asked to be a part of their Special Projects Committee for HOG Day. This is a diverse group of
individuals (from retirees to business and community leaders) who all are very passionate about HOG Day. Together, we discuss, plan and organize an amazing event that last year alone had 5,000 plus volunteers complete over 21,000 hours of service on a single morning, with an economic value of $489,299. HOG Day is truly an incredible event for Greenville and I am thrilled to be a part of it!

Laura is originally from Brookville, Ohio and moved to Greenville in 1999. She has received her Associate Degree in Accounting from Greenville Tech, a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Furman and is currently taking Masters of Accountancy classes at Clemson. Laura’s love affair with Greenville can be attributed to “the perfect weather and friendly people”.
